Heden bereikte ons het bericht dat Volodymyr Harazd, oud burgemeester van de geboorteplaats van onze oprichter, Dolyna, West Oekraïne, betrokken steunpilaar van de Dr Antonowycz muziekschool, een groot mens met een warm hart, een bijzondere vriend van het Utrechts Byzantijns Koor aan de gevolgen van Covid is overleden. Ons koor verliest in hem een zeer gewaardeerde Oekraïner die stond voor de toekomst van zijn stad, zijn land en de aansluiting bij Europa.
Onze condoleances gaan uit naar zijn vrouw, kinderen, familie, naaste collega’s en naar het bestuur, dirigente en zangers van het Lysenko koor uit Nieuwegein met wie hij veel heeft samengewerkt en opgebouwd.

Today we received the news that Volodymyr Harazd passed away caused by Covid. He was until recently, the mayor of Dolyna, West Ukraine, birthplace of our founder, involved supporter of the Dr Antonowycz music school, a great person with a warm heart, a special friend of the Utrecht Byzantine Choir. Our choir loses in him a highly esteemed Ukrainian who stood for the future of his city, his country and the connection with Europe.
Our condolences go out to his wife, children, family, co-workers and to the board, conductor and singers of the Lysenko choir from Nieuwegein with whom he has worked and built up a lot.
